Pizza can be just perfect for many meal occasions, but the accompanying wine should never be too serious.

The style of pizza and the main toppings will be your guide in selecting the wine. However, keep in mind that the standard tomato and cheese layer on the pizza base points in the direction of a wine, whether white or red, with good acidity. As the range of toppings varies widely, so will the styles of wine available to you.

Generally, the most appropriate are Crisp and Rich style whites or Fruity and Smooth style reds.
